When registering your thesis, please remember to send the course certificate verifying that you have completed the Master's Seminar module or state that you are still attending the Master's Seminar module. In either case, please include your thesis supervisor in the cc field of your email.
Approved thesis examiners or thesis project supervisors are persons who meet the criteria set out in Sec. 8 of the Joint Examination Regulations. The subject-specific examination regulations and/or study regulations governing the individual computer science study programmes may have provisions that extend or restrict the group of approved persons. In case of doubt, please get in touch with the relevant contact in the Examinations Office in good time.
According to our regulations, the supervisor / first examiner must be a person with a Ph.D. degree and expertise in the core area of visual computing (i.e. image acquisition, image analysis, image synthesis).
Currently the following people can be first examiners for Visual Computing theses:
Please note that a Visual Computing thesis must deal with a topic within the core discipline in visual computing. It is desirable that this is also reflected in its title. In case of any doubts, please clarify this before you start working on a thesis topic.
Any of the instructors mentioned above can also be a second examiner. Moreover, additional persons may be eligible on request: Researchers who hold a Ph.D. degree, work in a visual computing core area, and are competent to judge the topic may be considered. It is not uncommon that in your daily business of working on your master thesis, you receive advise from group members of the above-mentioned instructors. If such a person holds a Ph.D. degree, you can also ask the head of the examination board to accept them as a second examiner by providing also their official homepage for review of their research and CV.
