Please note that both of the thesis examiners have to be determined before the submission. Therefore also check the rules on approved thesis examiners for your thesis. If needed, you have to send a request to the relevant Examination Board in time.
If the submission of your thesis was the last formal requirement in the academic assessment/examination phase of your programme of study, you can apply to Saarland University's Admissions Office to deregister. (Important note: if you are uncertain about whether you can deregister at this point, please seek confirmation from the Examinations Office).
Only relevant for theses registered after 20.03.2025.
Additional to the printed thesis you have to submit an electronic version of the thesis.
Shortly after registering your thesis you will get an e-mail from noreply@cs.uni-saarland.de containing a link (marked by a red arrow in the image below) to upload your thesis.
The e-mail will resemble the one shown in the following picture
Upload your thesis as a PDF file. If you need to upload other files, please merge all additional files into a single compressed ZIP folder and upload the ZIP file.
The length of the file name (including the file extension) must not exceed 64 characters. If the file name is too long, an error message will be generated when you try to upload the file!
If, after submitting your thesis, you need to be issued with an examination certificate, please complete your part of the preliminary thesis review form and then send it to both thesis examiners individually, asking them to sign it and return it to your contact at the Examinations Office.
The examination certificate can be issued once the Examinations Office has received the signed forms from both examiners and you have successfully completed all other assessments and examinations.
